March Update 2013

I'm a sad panda right now T_T lol

I really really wanted to go to the Vancouver Auto show this year because we didn't go last year and I also wanted to go to the Plenty warehouse sale T_T but I'M SO FUCKING BROKE! unless some miracle happens and I randomly get money by tomorrow lol but I don't think that's going to happen so I'm pretty sad T_T lame..

School is over soon wahoo! What am I going to do this summer? ... will probably try to get a part-time job just to get away from Steve's fucking mom. She didn't freaking tell us how long she's going to stay for either (typical) *sigh* and if she does give us a date of when she's leaving she'll change it last minute and give us a huge headache >__< GRARGH!

Not much has really happened this month.. lol. I finally went to get my stomach checked out because it hurt for like 4 hours one night and I went to the hospital and was like WTF lol.

I don't get why I had to put on the stupid gown lol
they stuck me in a recliner chair and got to stare at this fun stuff the whole time >.< woo!

I told the doctor that was there that I went to see a different doctor before and she was like "you have an ovarian cyst, ok bye!" didn't even fucking give me any proper tests to see if I actually had one or not and just told me to fucking have Tylennol -___-' wtf. But the doctor at the hospital was like "well generally women get ovarian cysts when they are ovulating but since you are on birth control you shouldn't be ovulating so we're gonna schedule you for an ultrasound" I was like FINALLY! lol STUPID OTHER DOCTOR!

Then I went for an ultrasound like a week later. They told me that I had to have a full bladder for the test and that I had to drink tons of water so that's what I did.. and when I went there I had to pee super bad lol plus it didn't help when the technician was pushing on my stomach... lol at least I didn't pee my pants.

Anyways I forgot to call the doctor.. so I'm going to have to do that tomorrow lol.

**********

A few weeks ago I went to Japadog with my friend and it was awesome! lol I've been there before but I don't go often nor do I have hotdogs that often either. If you ever come visit Vancouver its a fast food you'll have to try, there's also a few locations in New York I think.. not sure if there are any in other places.

We went to the sit down location and they have french fries! O_O
They're seasoned with Japanese seasoning stuff O.O

I got the croquette dog T_T so good!
The one with the grated radish was meh.. lol not much flavor in that one
and my friend got a ground pork one which was alright lol

I'll probably do a proper post for Japadog ^__^ but not right now.

Anyways its a long weekend coming up and it supposedly is going to be super gorgeous this weekend but I'll probably be stuck at home since I'm so broke (probably go out to go to the gym T_T) and I'm gonna be super depressed lol.

*edit* I just realized I was supposed to get a cheque from the government like a month ago and it never came! WTF CANADIAN GOVERNMENT!

Small Seattle Trip/Visit with Ashley

Poo I wish we stayed longer but I feel like it was a pointless trip for us lol.
Coming home I felt sad LOL cause it seems super boring at home plus my parents are here too lol.

My friend asked me before what I was doing this weekend and I told him that Steve and I are going to the states he says to me "Oh let me call my boss so I can get that time off too" and I'm like wtf "we're going for the weekend" -__-' he said "oh ok, can you get me 4 cases of soda? its not for me its for my boss" I was like WTF.

Its pretty rare for me and Steve to go to the states for just a day trip unless we're with people (which is never lol) but I was super pissed off at his requests. He fucking invites himself on our little trip and assumes we'd just let him go with us and when we tell him we're going for more than a day he just assumes that we're going to get him shit, fuck you. Every time he's gone to the states he goes with someone else and he never invites me to go nor do I expect him to and I never ask him to get me anything either cause we go maybe once every few months? and he doesn't even ask if I want anything. Plus one of Steve's classmates asks him to buy him some fucking chewing tobacco which pissed me off too.

Seriously, one of my BIGGEST pet peeves EVER is when somebody asks you to fucking do/get them something and yet they won't do/get anything for you, that's why I never ask anyone to buy me stuff or if I do do it (which is rare) I feel bad/guilty to even ask.

This wasn't the first time my friend tried to pull this crap on me. I don't remember if I mentioned this in the Korea Trip Post but when I told him that me and Steve were going to Korea last year he fucking went and exchanged like $100 or something at the currency exchange for Korean won (he didn't tell me) and then out of the blue tells me to get him some stupid stationary crap that he can get online AND not only it was it for him he asked me to get THREE for a friend of his that I don't even talk to and his mom! I was like WTF not only do I have to go out of my way to find out where they sell this fucking stationary I have to sacrifice my luggage space for you/your mom and your friend that I don't talk to! you didn't even fucking ask me properly/politely plus he can fucking get it online for like the same price on ebay! then he says "Wtf am I going to do with this Korean money then?"  He just assumed that I'd fucking do it so I told him to just exchange it for Canadian dollars wtf. Let me ask you, would you have bought that crap for your friend?

We had to go out of our way to find out where they're selling chewing tobacco for Steve's stupid classmate and I was like why the hell is he doing it for this guy? he's never asked Steve to go hang out with him outside of school plus I don't think he'd ever return the favor for Steve anyways. PEOPLE SERIOUSLY!! like wtf are you going to say to these people anyways?

No I don't want to go out of my way to get shit for you because its convenient FOR YOU and you don't do anything for me in return and yet you make me feel fucking guilty if I don't do it >__<

I know its selfish of me and crap but I've put up with it long enough.

Steve had to go to Victoria for some stupid class trip on Saturday so I ended up telling my friend on Friday that we ended up not going because Steve couldn't get his shift at his work off LOL. He calls me up on Saturday to check if I had gone secretly and not told him -___-' but we ended up going that night LOL.

**********

Now that that's done... lol:

Steve didn't get enough sleep the day before because he had to wake up at 5:30AM for his Victoria trip so he bought 2 Monster energy drinks and a coffee at a gas station o_O

 On the way there!

We also stopped at Taco Bell on the way there since we never get it in Vancouver (we have to either travel to Surrey or Squamish to get some) but they closed the restaurant but the drive-thru was still open.

We arrived pretty late at like 11PM? and we were both pretty tired so we went to bed at like 1AM so we didn't get to chat that much with Ashley or her husband.

Since I had some of the energy drink that Steve bought I slept till like 4AM and couldn't fall back asleep till 8/9AM lol and was super grumpy the whole day because I barely slept.

Look who greets us in the morning!

We didn't really do much on Sunday. Ashley and her husband went hiking and to the gym for most of the day. We went to the mall but we didn't buy anything lol so we decided to go and get some food for lunch/dinner. I was going to make some soup but we decided not to and went to wholefoods. Steve then gets the idea that we should go to Costco to buy some stuff.

We went to the Kirkland Costco and was greeted by a woman demanding to see our membership card (we've never had to show our card before) and told Steve he should pay attention better and made a snarky face at him (we were like wtf?) Not a good start lol. We ended up with like 3 things in our cart LOL (cereal, a roast chicken and Advil lol) but they don't accept Visa at Costco >.< nor did our debit cards work (GRAARGH) so we ended up abandoning the stuff. When we told Ashley and her husband he was like "I use my visa there all the time" we were like WTF but maybe because its an American one? but that doesn't make sense cause the one in Canada doesn't even accept them either...

We went to Safeway after to get the roast chicken and I decided to get some hard cider and went back to the house. We basically bummed around this past weekend lol I told Steve it was pretty pointless in going but he did order the wheels he wanted but they arrive in about a week >.< I got drunk at like midnight and had a good sleep LOL.

On Monday we cleaned up the living room and left in the Afternoon. We had to make a few stops on the way up before we crossed the border.

Had lunch at the Seattle Outlets! the stromboli had too much cheese in it,
I ended up taking most of the cheese out and Steve ate it lol

Steve got a foot long Subway sandwich and a pizza -___-'
I made fun of his growing belly and he said its the happiest he's ever been LOL
but I know when his mom sees him she's going to freak out

Steve got me some new workout stuff ^__^ (he rarely buys me stuff lol)
I got Adidas capri workout pants ($29.99) and new shoes ($29.99) that actually fit my feet the other ones I have are too wide for my feet and the shorts ($10) were actually for Steve but they don't fit him LOL so he gave them to me.

Also stocked up on a crapload of beverages, cereal and some frozen foods

We might go back down at some point in April but Steve's freaking mom is coming back to Vancouver. We probably won't go at least while she is here because Steve has to declare the wheels he ordered and he'd have to stay at least 48 hours to not pay tax on them and she would want to go too and fuck that she's not inviting herself to Ashley's house, I feel guilty about staying there already! Not only that we can't buy food while we're down there either cause she'll criticize us for buying canned/processed/frozen/sugary food -___-' She initially told us that she wasn't going to come but I knew she would change her mind eventually T_T fuck so now we have to prepare for that... Yay.. eventful month coming up..

My Acne Story

Holy smokes my skin has broken out pretty bad lately. I haven't seen my skin like this in like 10 years o.O When I was a teenager I had HORRIBLE acne. There wasn't a place on my face where there were no pimples, seriously and nothing I used helped it. I started breaking out when I was 13/14 and it was really sudden and really bad. Prior to that I never used skincare products until I had acne which gets me to thinking, what age did you start using skincare products? I think bad acne runs in our family because Ashley used to have pretty bad acne when we were young but it wasn't as bad as mine, plus some of our cousins have pretty bad acne too.

It also didn't help when every Chinese auntie or my mom's stupid Vietnamese friends would point to my skin and be like "Your not washing your face enough!" or tell me how bad my skin is >.< YOU DON'T THINK I KNOW!? FUCK lol. I also hated it when my mom would randomly make some gross soup and be like "drink this, it'll make your skin clear you're too Yeet Hay" I drank it once and it tasted like crap lol and never drank it ever again apparently her soups cure cancer now LOL.

For those who don't know what Yeet Hay is I'll give you the jist of it, the literal translation is "hot air" and a lot of my cousins don't believe in it, what it means is that if you eat too much sugary or greasy/fat foods you will have too much hot air in your body and your skin will break out. I believe in it to some extent but my mom also says that if you don't wear a coat/jacket then cold air will get into your stomach and then you will die from cancer -___-' so.. some of it I don't believe in lol. Maybe some of you Cantonese people will understand lol.

By the time I was 15/16 years old my skin had started to clear because I was using proactive which I used for many years but it always left my skin oily. It was this year when I stopped using proactive all together I used only the repairing lotion and a whole bunch of other random products with it.

I'm not really surprised I broke out but it pisses me off LOL. I've been exposing my skin to a lot of dirt/dust and cooking oil lately. I cleaned the house REALLY WELL the other day so a lot of stuff has been flinging up into the air and I still have to scrub the crap out of the floor lol.

I'm doing a little experiment to see if any of the products I use in the next few days can clear them up for me. My skin is also super oily right now too -___-' This is what my skin literally looked like when I was in Korea for the first week (due to the heat/humidity/pollution) and it also looked like this in Hawaii too, heat and humidity is not good for my skin.

My skin broke out last night really unexpectedly too (hence the pictures above). During the day it was fine a few blemishes here and there but later on in the evening my skin felt really oily and felt sensitive (slightly burning) so I went to look at it in a mirror and I was like OMG WTF my whole forehead had small pimples everywhere and I had a few large pimples too >_< I brushed my teeth and washed my face as well as exfoliated with the St. Ives apricot scrub and used my regular skincare routine but my skin still felt oily >.<

This is 12 hours after the first few pictures
tried to get a photo with goodish lighting but ended up blinding myself LOL

The next day I went to the gym to work out and I also drank tons of water and green tea. I have to admit I don't drink water/green tea as much as I should but it never has really effected my acne anyways. Food doesn't really affect my skin that much anyways but I do think that green tea does help my skin quite a bit.

I didn't change my regular skincare routine the next day (morning) either cause I figured my skin is overly oily anyways the Skin Food Peach Sake line makes my skin matte and less oily so it should help a little. That night I was contemplating whether or not I should use a clay mask or a aloe pack mask for my skin. Ended up using the aloe pack mask :D which helped loads. By then most of the little pimples had almost disappeared anyways but still had a few of the bigger blemishes >.<

**********

Anyways my skin has basically cleared :D it only took 4 days >.< lame! lol but I was surprised on how fast the small little pimples disappeared, basically like a day!

Some blotchiness but its mostly clear now

We're going to visit Ashley this weekend ^__^ I wish I wasn't so broke though so I can buy some stuff lol but Steve said he has to go back at some point to get wheels or something because the store that he was going to get them from didn't hold them and sold them so they have to order them again and it'll take like a week >.< and I get to see TRIXIE! (Ashley's Yorkshire terrier lol)

My Beauty Diary: 2-Step Oceania Firming Pack

Why are teenagers in my neighbourhood so stupid? lol
I know it's totally off topic but as I'm writing this I'm getting super annoyed by them lol

Apparently its spring break for the high school kids and holy crap are the ones outside of my house right now super retarded, it seems like they're doing some sort of hazing so they're screaming a lot... also its like 12:33AM I'm contemplating whether or not I should call the cops or not lol. ANYWAYS BACK TO THE PRODUCT woaaah getting offtrack lol.

I think you will remember that I posted a similar photo of the 2-Step Clarifying pack a while back
The one thing I forget to change on this is that its not a gel in this mask
its a cream

What Do I Think Of This Product?

This mask adheres to your skin SO WELL.
It's so moist and its not too thick so it sticks so well because of that and its lightly scented.

The cream!
Its not really thick and its super smooth

The product doesn't make me break out either but I think this one is too heavy for me. After I used it my skin felt kind of greasy because I used ALL of the cream, you really don't need to put on that much but I would rub some in and wait for it to absorb and then put some more on >.< not a good idea. Plus I woke up all oily >.< so I would suggest not using all of the cream but I think it would be good for people who have dry skin.

For me this product would be really good in the winter time but not really good for people with combination/oily skin. As for the firming properties... I've used like 4 sheets already and I haven't really seen results but it makes my skin look nice anyways lol.

Where Can You Get This Product?

I actually got this product at T & T Supermarket at the newly renovated Metrotown location for about $17 (with tax $15 before). I have to say again how much I like the newly renovated section.

I was surprised to find that they don't have this particular 2-Step mask available at Sasa but they do have a whole bunch of other ones you can try! :D

You can find this product on Ebay for about the same price I paid at T & T

Plus! Amazon has it for about $15! with FREE SHIPPING! BUT! its for US residents only T_T

Muahaha cops came I didn't have to call them on those teenagers ^__^ LOL someone else did. On another note I finally got my replacement charger for my DSLR! WAHOOO lol better photos to come!

Our Tim Horton's Experience

What is up with people lately?

Today we had a pretty shitty experience at Tim Horton's. We went to the gym earlier then went to Canadian Tire to buy some screws and clips and stuff and I was like "I want an iced cap and a bagel" Steve was like "ok let's go" and we went through the drive-thru.

The woman who was working the drive-thru spoke super quickly so when we gave her our order she said "ok come to the window" so when we got to the window Steve gave her his visa card but wanted to change his method of payment to Debit and she kept asking "is that a visa? visa card?" we were like no its a debit card and she said "it says visa! its a visa card!" and we were like no its a fucking debit card but she kept putting in the wrong method of payment so the machine kept saying card error and then she snatches the machine out of Steve's hands and asks us "you have cash!?" we were like WTF PRESS DEBIT CARD and when she did and when it finally freaking went through she's like "ok" we were like wtf and we didn't even bother telling her she fucked up our order we just wanted to leave because we were frustrated.

BLARGHARHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

I've worked in the service industry so I get how it is. But I've never had to deal with someone as rude as this, especially an employee. I've already sent a complaint through their survey thing on the Tim Horton's website but I highly doubt that they do anything with those. Its like when I worked at Future Shop whenever someone complains its like "don't do it again" done! problem solved lol

So good luck to the Tim Horton's on Main Street in North Vancouver, hopefully you will be able to train your employee to have some basic customer service etiquette.

Nature Republic: Rice Mask Sheet

Given By Nature
Rice Mask Sheet
(I think they meant sheet mask?)

I'm actually surprised at the quality that this sheet mask is. I've gotten some really crappy sheet masks before from Etude House and The Face Shop before so I was expecting the same quality. Well I guess they're not that crappy but I prefer the thinner sheet mask over the thicker ones because I think that the thicker ones fall apart more easily and they dry out faster.

With that being said these ones are almost similar to the ones from My Beauty Diary in terms of quality but I still think that the My Beauty Diary ones are slightly better (but that's just my opinion, feel free to make your own judgements)

Anyways my skin hasn't been doing too well lately. I think I said something about it in a previous post but its a lot better now. It was dry, red and had little lumps underneath my skin but most of it has cleared up I think a few more days and it'll be all good but I think this mask has helped quite a bit.

What Do I Think Of This Product?

Like most rice masks its supposed to brighten the skin. This mask is unscented and well soaked in the serum plus its thinner than some masks from other Korean beauty companies.

When I put it on it kind of burned o_O but that could just be because my skin has been a little more sensitive than usual. Personally when my skin is dry and red I put on a sheet mask because it just soaks into the skin and absorbs really well, so I highly recommend it over a sleeping pack mask or wash off pack mask.

Doesn't stick on as well as the My Beauty Diary ones

After I took it off and rubbed the serum into my skin and it absorbed it still felt a little sticky and it felt oily too and it made my skin shiny too. I generally don't put on moisturizer or anything after I use a sheet mask because I think that sheet masks already are super soaked in a nutritious serum that I don't need to slather on more products onto my face but that's just me especially if the mask makes my face feel greasy.

But today when I woke up and after I washed my face, my skin felt really smooth and soft also it was less red so I would buy again.

Where Can You Get This Product?

Sasa actually has this one! lol for $1.50 which is what I paid for at the actual Nature Republic store in Hawaii.

I actually couldn't find it on Ebay or Amazon but they do have The Face Shop one available for $2 without paying for shipping.

So I think your best bet is Sasa in terms of price but I suggest buying other items too because you'll have to pay for shipping otherwise O_O

On a random note...

This has nothing to do with it but here's a random photo of my nails LOL Ashley thinks they look weird O_O

Samgyupsal: Korean Pork (Steve's Way)

As I mentioned in the previous post I wanted to show you how to make samgyupsal Steve's way.
We eat this at home maybe once or twice a month on a regular basis and Steve and his family also like eating it for special occasions. I personally would eat this like everyday if I could but I put so much garlic into it Steve would kill me LOL.

 What you'll need generally:
Pork belly slices (or you can get a big hunk of it and cut it yourself)
Leaf lettuce or romaine lettuce will work
Ssamjang dipping paste (Steve's mom likes to make her own but you can buy it already made)
Also kimchi and rice!

This is what the ssamjang paste container generally looks like and its generally sold beside the red pepper paste

Steve says that the thicker the pork belly slices are the better

 Pan fry! no oil needed!

Meanwhile slice the garlic!

 cut in slices!
Some people like to fry the garlic in the pork fat but I generally don't but Steve likes the option

Also cut up the meat with a pair of scissors to make it smaller (not pictured here)

If your gonna fry more don't forget to wipe out the fat
Steve's sister likes to fry the kimchi in the fat of the pork I have to admit it tastes good but to me its just too greasy >.<

Shazaam!

and enjoy!

Eat it in one bite! if you bite it in half chances are the juices from the kimchi will run down your mouth (how lovely lol) now there are tons of variations but this is the easiest for us.

In Korea if you go to some restaurants they'll also give you a side dish of onions marinated in a sweet sauce to go with it or some green onion salad which is generally mixed with a spicy sauce to put in your lettuce wrap.

Give it a try!

A bit of Shopping

Wahooo I finally ordered a new charger for my DSLR camera.

I've had my camera for like 5 years lol (Nikon D5000) but I lost the charger for it like two years ago and I never replaced it cause I rarely use it but I decided I should start using it for photos for this blog >.< you can see my deadly horrible skin LOL. I have a feeling after I receive the charger in the mail I'm going to freaking find the charger somewhere in the house -__-' lol. It always bugs me when people walk into Future Shop looking for a charger for their camera and they buy a $30-40 universal charger when they can get one on ebay for less than $10 and have the same quality LOL.

I also ordered a remote for it too so I can take semi-ok quality selfies without having to hold the camera -__-' I'm contemplating whether or not I should get a tripod or not.. although Steve will probably be like "why are you getting all this camera stuff?" LOL he still doesn't know about the blog..

The other day we took a trip to Richmond cause my friend wanted to get a ridiculously overpriced haircut and it takes 1 hour for the guy to cut his hair -___-' Anyways while he got his haircut me and Steve browsed the mall.

This mall is filled with Asian goods!
but some are overly expensive
$300 for a cardigan? no thanks lol

Steve wanted to get a new ring for himself
we had matching ones a while back but they suck and broke so he bought a new one
For those looking for one in Vancouver
go to Aquamarine in Aberdeen they have a huge selection

He paid like $100 for this -__-'
I got mine at Swarovski for $60 LOL

Also had lunch! Steve's Chicken Don

 I went here for lunch!
They're known for their Hainanese Chicken (I think that's what its called)

So good! I got their special
It comes with ginger rice and a semi-spicy sauce

I think I'll do a decent post for Aberdeen since there's so much to see/do there.

**********

We did a bit of grocery shopping yesterday mainly meat and snacks lol as we were running low on food in the house. I don't remember doing a post on Samgyupsal (pork belly) >.< ok I can't spell it properly but you get the idea lol. Steve and his mom taught me the super simple method that they like eating, they also like eating it for special occasions such as birthdays hopefully those who read it can get access to the ingredients :D

 Had lunch before grocery shopping!
Steve ordered WAAY too much food
But I love me some Ddukboki and Kimbap :D

He got me a beansprout spicy soup -___-' I hate beansprouts lol

Also got one of these fish waffles for dessert!

We got a red bean one! Steve almost ate the whole thing to piss me off
>.<

Got a lot of Pepero -__-'

I also did my taxes yesterday and I'm getting quite a bit of money back! *beams* but I'm going to save it for something.. not sure for what yet probably end up paying for the vacation I have planned in the winter :D or something that won't last a week or two lol.

Oh! and I found a random mascara I bought at Nature Republic when I was in Hawaii lodged in my backpack lol so I'm going to try to use it >.< if it sucks I give up on makeup LOL.

Also I love this song right now:

Sistar is my favorite Kpop girl group! It used to be 2NE1 but I found that after listening to their songs a few times I got annoyed by them or I'll like their song for a week lol (and yes I'm aware this is a Sistar19 song for those who are super anal about these things)

Obsessions

I guess in a way its like a monthly favorites post? only excludes makeup and skincare products LOL. These are just things that I'm really obsessed with lately LOL.

 MOST FAVORITEST DRINK RIGHT NOW

I love coconut juice! but then I saw this at T & T Supermarket and wanted to try it, OMG never ever going to buy regular coconut juice ever again. I'm totally obsessed! If I were stuck on a deserted island and I could have one drink it would be this.. although the deserted island might have coconuts... -___-' lol

 Organizers

I have no idea why I keep on trying to find new ways to organize my "beauty" drawer? and my clothes but I find it fun as well as finding organizers for everything else in the house lol. I got these drawer organizers from Ikea for like $7 O..O So awesome!

Athena

Its not that I'm obsessed with her, its just I MISS HER!!!!!! T_T we got her last last November but had to give her away because me and Steve didn't have the time to take care of her. Poop I want her back! she was such a sweet puppy.. T_T

I haven't bought much lately but I plan to buy new clothes soon, my pants are having difficulties staying up without a belt LOL but me and Steve are planning on visiting Ashley sometime this month :D so I'll probably go shopping with her then! :D

Also my skin has broken out!! POO!!

You can kind of see the lumps underneath my skin >.< Not sure what's happening here!
Plus its quite dry right now.. boooo!
