December Updates

What an end to the entire year, this month was so relaxing, the beginning at least lol. Mainly because I had like a month off from school (no classes, exams finished early) and because Steve's mom went away for like a week (wish it was longer T_T) and you know what she did as soon as she came back? Asked Steve to do her school homework and school project while she just sat around and relaxed >.<

His mom seems to be extra clingy since she came back which is overly annoying, like having princess syndrome. She woke us up in the middle of the night to plug in the ipad right beside her bed -___-' like wtf. She also woke us up super early in the morning to tell Steve that the heat isn't coming on in her car (you gotta wait, stupid!) its overly stressful when she's at home. Its like when she left and came back she decided "hey I can get away with my son doing everything for me so I might as well take advantage of him and his girlfriend" Umm fuck you no, you know how to fucking pump gas into a car/buy grapes!!!!!!!!!! Man where is karma when you need it lol.

Cute but stupid

Speaking of stress, my stupid mom decided she can take care of two dogs at once because she's basically getting paid, but in reality, she sucks at taking care of people let alone animals. She's killed one dog before because she thought a puppy doesn't need a leash, so it got hit by a car. Her excuse? "it committed suicide" uh.. no. The dog pictured above has high anxiety issues when its left alone and is super people dependent. If there is nobody upstairs with him he will bark and howl until someone goes up there. SO ANNOYED! And on top of that we have a super nice tenant that I hope doesn't move out because of these stupid animals.

Woo I got most of the classes I want this semester ^__^ so I'm pretty happy right now.. but I still have to buy books for the semester so that's gonna set me back quite a bit >.< poops lol. Class starts tomorrow for me and my sleep schedule has been super messed up lately >.< (sleeping super late and waking up late) its all thanks to Steve because we moved his computer from the living room into our bedroom and he likes to play games super late or watch anime -___-' lol.

I did a lot of cooking this month, specifically soups and this one is my favorite :P so easy to make and tummy warming :P Chinese soups FTW!

 Steve's birthday dinner

I took Steve out for his birthday dinner when we went to go visit Ashley since I thought it would be hectic for us to do it when his birthday actually came around. We went to Black Bottle in Bellevue and it was so goooood.

Steve ordered a local beer and I ordered a cocktail that was really bitter and full of alcohol, I fell asleep as soon as we got home :P LOL

 Fried Chicken

Ashley suggested these to us, they were good but I'm a fried chicken snob lol so obviously I wanted more. The sauce was a nice compliment to the chicken.

The food came out quick which was nice.

 Clams with chorizo

This came in a really nice broth. Generally I don't really like clams but I had this once and had to get it again, Steve ended up eating like all the clams -___-' I only had like 3 lol but he let me have most of the broth ^__^

Pork Belly and Kimchi

It wasn't as good as I thought it was, it was alright but I probably won't be ordering this again.

Fennel and Sausage Flat bread?

I thought that the flat bread was too much food and I was right lol, I had only two pieces and Steve ate the rest lol but it was good but we found a super hard piece of rock or something in it >.<

Steve ordered another dish, this one is vegetarian and its roasted eggplants, roasted red peppers, a nice mozzarella with some balsamic sauce. I ate a bit but that was it.

BEST THING EVER!

This is the best panna cotta ever! This is earl grey panna cotta O_O I would eat this everyday if I could. Steve liked it too and he generally doesn't like many desserts.

Christmas Dinner Setting

We were invited to a nice Christmas dinner at Ashley's Mother-in-law's husbands daughters house LOL ok that was a lot.. maybe this would be easier Ashley's husbands step sister? LOL I don't know but it was a very large dinner and there were many guests.

Ashley's on a diet so she didn't get a chance to eat the food they made but she kept asking us what some food tasted like lol.

The dinner was so great! Everything was delicious and I know a lot of hard work went into this dinner >.< Wish I brought something to contribute to this dinner.

Some of the stuff on this plate I've never had before like the marshmallow thing on the left, the white balls (didn't try those actually -__-') There was like a brittle thing, gingerbread and short cookies.

Steve's second birthday dinner

We went out for another birthday dinner for Steve on Boxing day with a couple of friends and of course we had a few drinks :)

We got some Toro (pork belly?) and uhh.. I'm not actually sure what this other one is LOL but the toro is the best!

I don't think its bacon.. lol I think it was thin pork meat wrapped around it, but it was pretty good O_O

Ebi Mayo

Basically battered fried shrimp with a spicy mayonnaise lol but these are always good no matter where you go.

Chicken Karaage

Fried chicken! This was alright.. lol I love super crispy fried chicken and this wasn't crispy enough for me.. lol

I don't remember what this was

It was not worth it LOL. It all tasted the same to me, I mean it wasn't bad tasting but for something that is supposed to have variety it all just blended together and it seemed like you were eating the same thing.

Steve's mom couldn't find the product I wanted so she got me these instead. $40 for 3 boxes at the duty free? Seriously next time I go to Korea I'm only going to shop at the duty free lol.

Here we go again!

So we've been going back and forth about going to the states. I got the Ok from Steve on Friday about us going today and then this morning his fucking mom decides (last minute) that she wants a bunch of shit done and she's so fucking stupid she can't do it her fucking self so she has to make Steve do it. And of course the little puppet is doing what it is told and he wants to leave early to deal with his mom's stupid bullshit.

She knew full well that we are leaving today, she could have mentioned this shit yesterday, or the day before. Nope, she has to spring it up last minute because I guess her little mind processed the fact that she was going to be alone for a few days and she couldn't handle that.

I mentioned in August that his mom was getting pissed off because I wanted to visit my sister and since she wanted to go shopping in the states we might as well go for a visit, she absolutely, unequivocally knew that I won't be able to see her until December and Steve promised me that we would come down now.

Steve and I argued through text messages about why we have to come back early for the simple errands she can do herself and he told me "you won't understand because its a cultural thing" HOW IS IT A CULTURAL THING? EVEN MY KOREAN FRIENDS AT SCHOOL TOLD ME THIS IS ABNORMAL!!!!! and I understand full well your mom is incapable of doing anything beneficial for your family now, its official. Its no wonder why his fathers side of the family absolutely hates her, she contributes nothing but reaps the rewards.

She leaves to Korea on Thursday (hope she gets murdered) and the plan was to stay at Ashley's place till Wednesday morning, like fuck we literally see his mom everyday, Steve does everything for her everyday, HE DID HER FUCKING HOMEWORK FOR HER YESTERDAY! And he went to the store to get a duplicate receipt for her laptop that she lost and did her fucking banking, while she did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

How does she expect to care for geriatric patients when she can't even figure out youtube? or google?

Her view on homosexuality is absolutely horrid. She is extremely uneducated when it comes to homosexuality and sex. She said to me "Do all gay people have HIV?" "They're all mentally retarded right?" "they must have a mental condition" "does his dick not work?" "if you have anal sex you automatically get HIV right?" I was absolutely shocked when I heard these words spoken out of her mouth, she seriously flipped out when she found out Anderson Cooper was gay. When she told me all this I told Steve "your mom is absolutely ignorant when it comes to sex and homosexuality and we need to educate her" and he said to me "all Koreans think like that so whatever leave her alone" (<--WRONG!) and then she asks me to ask my homosexual friend's mom to help her get a job when she graduates, umm no fuck you, he owes you nothing especially after basically saying that he's mentally retarded.

Every week since she started school its "amanda can you edit this for me?" or "can you write this for me?" and "can you read this and tell me what it means?" and she knows that I go to school full time for ACTUAL CREDITS THAT COUNT FOR SOMETHING not for some stupid program that finishes in 4 months with a practicum that is full of people who don't speak or write english well. Grades don't matter in this class she's taking, they're passing this girl that has failed every single exam that should be getting 20% So yeah I don't think it really matters if I edit her crap or not. If I don't do it, Steve ends up doing it.

So basically its like why even go to school if your not willing to do the work? She paid Steve $100 to do her 6 page project on elder abuse and I'm guessing that she didn't learn anything about that. She's like "I got an A" on random projects we did and its like no you didn't we did lol.

Basically we're leaving a day early now, which is fine I wanted to leave on Wednesday (the more time we can spend away from her the better) but a day early is better than nothing and really its not like Steve likes his mom at all, he even told me that. They don't get along, they barely talk to each other unless she wants him to do/give her something and they pretty much have nothing in common besides the fact that they are related. But he insists that he's the son and he has to do these things because its the Korean way and my friends at school (who are Korean) counter-argued that and said that they are the eldest sons and even their mothers don't do these things.

I have a feeling plans will change again real soon, will keep this updated as things progress throughout the day.

I hope to god Karma gets her.

and.. Christmas Is Ruined Again

Last year Steve's mom randomly decided that she wanted to come to Canada last minute while we were in the US visiting my sister for Christmas. So we had to leave early to basically open the fucking door for her because she didn't bother to give us a heads up.

THIS YEAR! We planned on going SINCE! They didn't let me go see my sister in July but then Steve's mom decides basically that her car broke down so that means that Steve has to pay for it, not her. So whatever he's getting from his paycheck (right before we were supposed to leave) is going into HER bank account ... yeah.. so now he's like "I can't afford to go now" and I'm like FUCK! WTF! because his dad gives his mom money and I'm very aware of how much money she has in her bank account but she's not willing to touch it so its kind of like wtf. She doesn't want us to visit for like 2 days wtf, you live with us! WE SEE YOU EVERY FUCKING DAY!

So now I have tons of packages sitting at Ashley's house waiting to be picked up and some I've been waiting for like almost a fucking month! >.< and I really want to get them and I really don't want to ask them to bring it up (I'm not going to, I really want to fucking go visit them) and its probably not going to be until the end of my fucking semester to go visit!

Grarrgh! Seriously year after year and this is the second time they did this to me, even if it isn't intentional but I think its selfish to ask your son to pay for your car when you have lots of money.

Fuck this family!

*UPDATE* Yeah Steve called his dad and he'll be paying for his mom's car so we can actually go down and visit! Yay!

Holidays

Ah.. Christmas where to begin?

When Ashley and I were little we would hear so much about Christmas from our teachers and classmates at school as well as movies/tv shows. Every year we would put out soy milk and Chinese almond cookies for Santa hoping he would come and give us the gifts we wrote him for. We would stay up late hoping that we could see him... then our mom would yell at us for wasting soy milk and almond cookies lol.

We always had the shittiest Christmas, the only thing we would ever look forward to during the holidays was getting time off school and sleeping in. On Christmas day our parents friends would come over and give me and my sister a gift as well as something for my parents. Me and Ashley would open the gifts and get super excited because we actually got gifts on Christmas, we would play happily with our gifts for a few days until my mom and dad would take them away, re-wrap them and give them to their other friend's kids as Christmas gifts because they were too cheap and lazy to go out and buy their kids gifts (they did this a lot with a lot of our stuff, I miss my bear lol)

Every year after that we never really had a good Christmas, when we got a little older my dad gave me and Ashley $50 to go buy a game we could get on our PC, I remember Ashley getting roller coaster tycoon (best game ever!) and sim city for me. I don't think I've ever had a good christmas, we never had anything good because my mom would freak out over the smallest things or just hurl insults and me (call me stupid and crazy and fat) and when I would ignore her and be super pissy at her and she would be like "why are you being so mean to your mother? it's Christmas!" WTF right?

This year is probably not really an exception, Steve's mom decided to come and stay for a month at our house O_O (last minute) thanks for ruining my time with Steve! he's probably going to move out in February anyways and I had so many things planned for us to do and its like I shouldn't plan anything from now on because people just can't let me have something, I just don't know what to do anymore.

I can't think of a good Christmas I've had without either my parents ruining it or now Steve and his family ruining it.

I know some Korean families don't celebrate Christmas anyways (read about it here) so I get why his mom is coming because its not really a family holiday for them but still I want to spend some time with him, so I guess I'm not going to go on any dates (not like we did anyway!) we can't do it without her hearing us LOL, and I don't get to cook what I want either because she's going to fill the whole refrigerator with nasty Korean stuff that neither me or Steve will eat! I mean its so infuriating that I have my own place and I can't voice out what I want to say without some unreasonable person(s) freaking out at me. Steve's going to Calgary for like a week in February and its not like he's going forever! why the fuck do you have to stay a fucking month? I hope her plane explodes!

Nothing good ever happens to me.
