Laneige - Light Power Essential Skin Refiner

Light one for oily skin!

I've been using this everyday for my morning skincare routine and its great! Its been a few years since I last used any Laneige product that wasn't a cleanser, I got this on Sasa for like $25? but I know that the US Targets sell them (not Canadian ones... no wonder they're closing down >.<)

Some packaging changes

The last time I used a Laneige toner and emulsion (sorry did not purchase the emulsion this time!) the bottles were made out of glass, not plastic. One of the reasons why I didn't repurchase the one I had before was because I actually dropped my glass toner on the floor and it smashed everywhere and there was like tons of toner left in it >.< so I wasted like $30 and I was worried that it would happen again. So I'm glad they changed the bottle to a plastic one but the packaging does seem a little cheap compared to before.

What I like about it: It makes my skin feel nice and moisturized after applying, It feels really light on the skin and absorbs really well and makes your skin nice and soft. It also has a good reasonable price and you can find it easily online (like at Sasa) or if you live in the US you can head to your local Target and pick it up.

What I don't like about it: The scent of the product I find a bit too overwhelming it smells good, but I feel like sometimes it has too much perfume in it. I'm not a huge fan of the new plastic bottle change but its not that big of a deal.

I'm wondering what the packaging is like for the emulsion is it exactly like the toner? I hope there's a pump. I love Laneige products, and I'm totally gonna order more!

I hope some of you give this product a shot, its pretty affordable and its a great quality product :)

Kose: Medicated Sekkisei Lotion & Emulsion

Kose medicated Sekkisei Lotion & Emulsion

HOLY SHIT lol I am so sorry I have not posted in SO LONG! I hate school so much! lol, I'll have to give a monthly update at some point but I hope this will hold you over till then :P A lot of things have happened... lol

I stopped using the Nature Republic truffle stuff because I think it just stopped working on my skin and I remember reading a review on this product somewhere and wanting to try it but was like eh.. this stuff is too expensive for me. But I decided to bite the bullet and invest (Purchased on Sasa)

These products are one of the best selling Japanese skincare products available on Sasa O_O

So far I've been using this stuff for about 2 months now.

Giant bottles!

Ok not giant but these will last a LONG time. The toner is 360mL and the emulsion is 140mL and for the price of both products, its super worth it. I wanted to try the SK-II products at first but its so expensive for just the toner I didn't want to try it just yet so I ended up with these and boy am I super happy with them!

Tops

Glad that the toner doesn't have a gaping hole in the top that some products have, I found out I could've bought the toner with a pump -__-' but its too late for that now LOL. At least the emulsion has a pump :P

The toner is sort of milky in terms of looks but its just like any toner (watery consistency) and it has a distinct scent, it doesn't smell bad its just not floral or fruity.. medicinal? LOL I CAN'T DESCRIBE SCENTS! lol

The emulsion is not thick at all and a little goes a LONG way, it spreads across the skin really easily and is quickly absorbed.

**********

Overall results, I feel like my skin texture is much smoother and softer and that my red patches on my face are slowly disappearing when I use this.

I will totally purchase this again (unless it stops working on my skin) I'm glad that there are some amazing products out there that aren't totally gonna rob you lol.

Sasa Haul

Splurged just a little o.O

I haven't really spent money on an expensive product in a long long time especially for my skin, which I should take into consideration since I want to have nice skin for as long as I can manage it :P I think most people do lol.

I also wanted to take a break from Korean products since I've been using them for a while now. The Nature Republic truffle one eventually stopped working on my skin as well as the Juju cosmetics and I noticed more redness than usual.

 Kose Medicated Sekkisei Cosmetic Lotion

I considered buying the SK-II facial treatment essence but its just so damn expensive for a bottle $300+ for 11oz? (325ml) no thanks so I started looking for a product that's just as highly rated on Sasa but affordable and I found this.

This has tons of good reviews and I paid like $50 for 360ml of product O_O I also got the emulsion and the total was basically $100 so I think its a good deal for a lot of product.

Will do a review on this soon :)

 Bio-essence products!

I'm running low on the ampoule that I've been using and I've known about Bio-essence for a while now and I hear their products are pretty good so I ordered these serums when there was a deal on Sasa. I don't actually think they sell the whitening serum anymore, they have a small bottle version but not the bigger size that I ordered.

I got this for free lol

I thought I might as well give it a try since I haven't used a foam cleanser in a while and Methode Swiss has a good reputation. Maybe this will be a life changing product :P

Nature Republic: Truffle [EX] Wrinkle Emulsion and Toner

Wrinkle Toner & Emulsion enriched with truffle mushroom
extracts for wrinkle improvement

Its been a while!

In a previous post I mentioned that I purchased this at the Nature Republic store in Hawaii. Its not that I have wrinkles but I was starting to notice (or think) that my pores were getting a bit droopier. Then again it could have been the hot weather during that time. I also previously reviewed the sleeping mask for this line here.

Long Glass Bottles

One thing I really like about this Nature Republic brand is that the packaging feels and looks really expensive but the cost of the overall product is really really reasonable. One thing I worry about is accidentally smashing these on the floor lol.

The down side

One thing I really don't like about this product is the design of the bottle... Its kind of hard to dispense the product inside, you really have to give it a good shake upside down to make sure all the emulsion comes out. The toner is fine you don't need to shake it to dispense but since the emulsion is thick you have to shake it pretty good lol, I wish there was a pump instead.

I've used the toner and emulsion for a few months now (only for my night skincare routine) and I've noticed how much more toner I've used in comparison to the emulsion so I would say buy two toners and one emulsion if you think you will use up all the product.

Its pretty thick and creamy
(and old lady hands LOL)

The toner is a thicker toner its not super watery and its not as sweet smelling like the emulsion. It doesn't absorb right away but you can feel it absorb into your skin.

The emulsion has a mushroomy scent (duh! it has truffle essence in it) I'm not the best at describing scents... but to me it smells sweet and earthy if that makes sense. To me it feels a little bit oily and thick (a little goes a long way) and I honestly don't need a moisturizer after I use it. If you have oily skin and you're thinking of using it during the day you'll probably have super oily skin lol because it feels quite heavy, I'll lounge around the house during the night and can feel my skin feeling oily.

So! Does it get rid of wrinkles? or minimize the appearance of them?

Honestly the overall feel of my skin has softened and tightened a bit since I've started using this product. As for wrinkles, I don't really have any to begin with except for some laugh lines but I'll probably need something stronger than this to get rid of. My skin is pretty sensitive too and this hasn't broken me out in case you are wondering. So if you are looking for something that will minimize the look of your wrinkles, I don't think this is for you.

JuJu Cosmetics Aquamoist

O.O A post about Japanese products!

I ordered these products like last year from Sasa and used them for quite a while (like 5 months) Juju is SO AFFORDABLE! I was hoping to find some Juju cosmetic products while I was in Hawaii but T_T no luck and there is a place that sells these products in Vancouver but its like seriously double the price -__-' wtf.

Aquamoist Vitamin C Toner

When I first bought this I thought it was just a moisturizing toner then when I actually got it I noticed at the bottom it said whitening lotion and was like wtf? lol.

The toner is quite watery which I like. I used a hadalabo toner before I switched to this one and I didn't like that it was thicker plus it made my skin oily. This toner I only use at night because I use the Skinfood Peach Sake line during the day so my skin is matte and not oily.

The toner isn't really scented which is nice, I hate it when you use different products and they're scented so it smells weird in the end lol. Anyways it absorbs really well, I haven't really noticed a whitening effect. It doesn't make my skin oily and it keeps my skin moisturized at night. Plus it doesn't make me break out.

I hesitantly bought this product because I wasn't blown away by the quality of the bottle that the hadalabo essence I used had but I thought I would give it a try anyways.

Right off the bat when I received this product I was surprised how well the quality of the bottle was. So much better than the hadalabo one -__-' and for the same price! lol the pump on this bottle is so much better, it doesn't drag the essence out all over the pump so I was super happy with that. Plus the bottle is glass and not plastic.

The consistency of this product is like ... semen LOL! maybe Steve is tricking me haha, but no seriously its sticky its thick lol its not scented and it absorbs really well. I use this only at night too and did notice some dark spots on my face did fade so I would buy this product again but I still want to see what is out there.

Oh.. This cleanser... lol, I bought this because I had heard good things about it and was super excited when I bought this. I've never used a foam cleanser before so I was a little skeptical in using it.

What I like about this product is the packaging, Juju does packaging really well for its affordable prices ^__^

BUT I didn't like this product lol. If you aren't using a something that will help exfoliate your skin when you cleanse then you will think it doesn't do anything which I thought lol and I'm using a silicone wash pad. It does clean well but I thought that it didn't work well for me. My skin got super oily really fast after using this too >.< so I stopped using it after a few washes.

Overall I would buy the toner and the essence again but I really want to try some other products that they also have ^__^

Where Can You Get These Products?

I bought all of these products on Sasa, I know its available here in Vancouver (specifically aberdeen mall in Richmond) but expect to pay double for what you can pay for on Sasa.

Don't forget you can get these products on Ebay but if you are planning on buying a whole bunch of stuff I would suggest buying it all from sasa because you're gonna get tons of random boxes from ebay sellers lol.

HadaLabo: Cleanser, Toner & Essence

Post by Amanda

I bought this cleanser way earlier in the year as well as their Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Moist Emulsion (toner) and their Super Hyaluronic Acid Moist Essence. I had read Xiaxue's post on HadaLabo and it did intrigue me... she's a bad influence on my wallet lol but Hadalabo is quite affordable.

Skin Food: Peach Sake Toner and Serum

Post by Amanda

I bought this product when I was in Korea in August. I had seen it before on Sasa and I really wanted to order it because I have really really oily skin but it was always sold out.

I bought the L'oreal Hydrafresh Anti-Shine Gel (will post on this later) earlier in the year because I had watched a few Youtube guru's claiming that it mattifies the skin so I was intrigued to buy it. I have to say it did not work for me. I wore it for a few hours and then would get oily, just goes to show not everyone is the same.
