Laneige - Light Power Essential Skin Refiner

Light one for oily skin!

I've been using this everyday for my morning skincare routine and its great! Its been a few years since I last used any Laneige product that wasn't a cleanser, I got this on Sasa for like $25? but I know that the US Targets sell them (not Canadian ones... no wonder they're closing down >.<)

Some packaging changes

The last time I used a Laneige toner and emulsion (sorry did not purchase the emulsion this time!) the bottles were made out of glass, not plastic. One of the reasons why I didn't repurchase the one I had before was because I actually dropped my glass toner on the floor and it smashed everywhere and there was like tons of toner left in it >.< so I wasted like $30 and I was worried that it would happen again. So I'm glad they changed the bottle to a plastic one but the packaging does seem a little cheap compared to before.

What I like about it: It makes my skin feel nice and moisturized after applying, It feels really light on the skin and absorbs really well and makes your skin nice and soft. It also has a good reasonable price and you can find it easily online (like at Sasa) or if you live in the US you can head to your local Target and pick it up.

What I don't like about it: The scent of the product I find a bit too overwhelming it smells good, but I feel like sometimes it has too much perfume in it. I'm not a huge fan of the new plastic bottle change but its not that big of a deal.

I'm wondering what the packaging is like for the emulsion is it exactly like the toner? I hope there's a pump. I love Laneige products, and I'm totally gonna order more!

I hope some of you give this product a shot, its pretty affordable and its a great quality product :)

Bio-essence - Bio-Energy Snail Secretion Repair Serum

Cracked this thing open a while back

So! I think some of you may remember me buying this about a year ago in a Sasa package because it was on sale lol. I was skeptical because I've used a snail BB cream with bad results and I thought maybe its the "snail" ingredient in it that caused my skin to break out (I still don't really know what caused the break out) but I was pretty hesitant on buying this product. Since it was on sale though, I decided to give it a go.

I bought this product on the Sasa website for about $10, they're selling it now for like $30 >.< but every now and then this product does reduce to $10 you just have to be lucky to catch it on sale.
Much better bottle design that their Whitening serum

This serum is so much better than the whitening serum by Bio-essence, in terms of bottle design, consistency of the product (how the serum feels) and how well the serum works.

I still have an expectation that the suction would fill the tube all the way but it only fills partially, but I think its the weirdo in me that wants it to fill up so I can play with it lol.

Old lady hands lol

3-4 drops is all I need for my whole face and neck.

The serum is:
  • Watery in texture
  • Not oily at all
  • Absorbs really well
  • Not thick or heavy feeling on the skin
  • A little goes a long way
This is a great serum, I feel that my skin feels softer after using this and I noticed my laugh line is not as noticeable when I use it (but when I go off of it, my laugh line is noticeable) So I feel like if I used it all the time (I only use it at night) it would have a better impact on my skin than it does now but I'm not really sure what the lasting power is on this product.

I'm gonna wait till this goes on sale again (I'm a poor student at the moment lol) and repurchase. I like it much better than the whitening serum I used by Bio-essence.

One of my new years resolution is to take better care of my body and skin so I may just invest into a more expensive serum but I'm not gonna let this go if its on sale lol.

Bio-Essence: Tanaka White 4X Flawless White Serum

A very interesting serum

First let me start with, I think mine may actually be expired or something is wrong with it lol because I'm not entirely sure on what the serum is supposed to look like but whenever I try to use the dropper no product goes into it and it just looks really weird. Maybe its supposed to be like this? But I'm really not sure... someone let me know! lol

The directions and description of this product are all in Chinese... so I don't know if I'm using it right or not lol but its a serum so I'm pretty sure there's no way to get it wrong :P

 Gorgeous packaging

If some of you aren't aware of Bio-essence, this skincare brand is from Singapore and they've expanded to other parts of Asia! I hope they come out to Canada I would love to try more of their products :D

I got this on sale at Sasa and for the price, I must say the packaging is so nice! It looks and feels like an expensive brand but its super affordable :)

I finally finished up the Nature Republic serums. I think it got to the point where it just didn't do anything anymore because I was just trying to use it all up >.<

Here's where it gets weird

Although the packaging is great, there seems to be something wrong with my dropper thing, that's the max that it fills up and it seems to have problems suctioning the serum inside, I can see the serum if I look into the bottle (which is full of serum) but it just has problems suctioning it..

As for the serum itself, it smells nice. Its quite thick but doesn't feel heavy so a little goes a long way and it absorbs really nicely.

Looks like fluid from a cyst.. lol

It might not look great but it does a great job. The formula is quite nice and I think I see some results which is great! It really smoothed out my skin texture and I think it is slowly evening out the redness/dark areas on my skin O.O! The formula for this serum is quite nice, it didn't break me out at all and I have pretty sensitive skin :)

Will repurchase! Hopefully it doesn't stop working well for me like the other serums I used before did and I can't wait to try the other bio-essence serum I have in my collection :D

Sana: Pore Putty BB Cream

Japanese BB Cream!

I've seen this product on sale at T & T supermarket in Vancouver (specifically the metrotown location) but I never thought about buying it, plus they jacked up the price on this product so its a good thing I ordered it off Sasa.

Its actually quite a small bottle

Only 30g.. its quite a small, cute bottle but a little goes a long way with this.

Oh man gotta do the nails.. lol

No pump >.< but it has a nice dispenser and also dispenses cleanly. The BB cream has SPF 50+  in it and it doesn't claim to have any anti-wrinkle ingredients or whitening effects but it is nice and creamy, as far as I know there's only one shade available on Sasa (I'm not entirely sure if there are other shades..) it has pretty good coverage (I would say its medium coverage but buildable)

From makeup free, to bb cream on, to the end of the day

Ok! So I decided not to use primer with this BB cream because I wanted to test it without a primer, the first few hours were fine but throughout the day I felt my face become more and more oily (I have oily/combination skin) I did set the BB cream with powder. I feel like if you do use a mattifying primer this bb cream would be amazing. It covers my redness really well, as well as, a few blemishes I have on my skin.

I'll have to give it a go again with a mattifying primer hopefully I'll have better results at the end of the day.

If you don't have oily skin then I think this would be great for your skin :) give it a go!

Another Sasa Haul

Another Sasa haul.. Went a little nuts this month lol

The main reason why I did another order was for the hair mask lol most of the other products are just filler.. lol.

 Haruhada Collagen Moisture Cleansing Water

One of the top favorite products on Sasa, I wanted to get this cause I want to try using some more eye makeup but didn't really have a proper makeup remover for it so I purchased this!

Super inexpensive (like $15) I didn't want to jump the gun on something like Bioderma that's double the price of this so its a good starting product and if it works well then that's good!

Essential Rich Premier Honey Hair Mask

I've used the pink version of this before (the nuance airy one) but I heard this one is more moisturizing? I might be wrong but the pink one was good I just wanted it to be a little more moisturizing.

Essential Hair Serum

I've been using the Biosilk silk therapy oil stuff but I kind of think its not doing anything anymore lol but why not give this a shot so I ordered it.

 Heynature BB Cream

I was a little hesitant on purchasing this because it says "moist tightening" and since I have oily skin anything that says moist screams oily lol but maybe that's me. Not only that it was a bit on the pricy side (close to $30) I don't think I've spent that much on a BB cream before but we will see the end result.

Will write a post on this product later :P also there's only one color available (from what I saw) on Sasa.

Sana BB cream

I've never used a Japanese BB cream before and this one had 4/5 Stars based on its rating on Sasa but I ordered it anyway because it was like $15 lol. I know they sell this product at T & T at the Metrotown location but its like double the price >.< so yeah good deal on Sasa lol.

moop!

Sasa Order - A small package

 Trying some new stuff

I ordered about 4 products a few weeks ago and it finally came! There wasn't anything I really needed besides a new cleanser because somebody was using all of mine! -___-'

Of course I took advantage of their free shipping over $40 worth of stuff offer so that's why I didn't order so much but next order... there's gonna be a lot more stuff lol.

Skin Food - Black Egg Pore Primer

I've never really tried a primer before. When I wear foundation or BB Cream I just make sure my skin is moisturized. I have used the BB Boomer by Missha when I use their BB cream but I don't really think it does anything.. lol

Shiseido - Perfect Whip Foam Cleanser

I've heard such good things about this cleanser that I wanted to try it out, I've been using nothing but Korean brand cleansers for the past two years so I thought I'd change it up. If creamy/foam cleansers aren't your thing then there's also a gel version and a cleansing oil that I'm interested in trying but I've never used a cleansing oil before...

Koji - Eye Talk Eyelid Glue

I'm working on a post with this at the moment lol but I've been wanting to try this for a long time and I finally purchased it! Hopefully it won't disappoint.

Sana - Liquid Eyeliner

I actually didn't really want to buy this.. but it had good reviews.. lol I can't really wear eyeliner because of my monolid but more about that later haha.

Finally I have some time to make some posts! This last semester at school really took over more time than I have hoped... but I hope you stick around :)

Thanks guys!

Kose: Medicated Sekkisei Lotion & Emulsion

Kose medicated Sekkisei Lotion & Emulsion

HOLY SHIT lol I am so sorry I have not posted in SO LONG! I hate school so much! lol, I'll have to give a monthly update at some point but I hope this will hold you over till then :P A lot of things have happened... lol

I stopped using the Nature Republic truffle stuff because I think it just stopped working on my skin and I remember reading a review on this product somewhere and wanting to try it but was like eh.. this stuff is too expensive for me. But I decided to bite the bullet and invest (Purchased on Sasa)

These products are one of the best selling Japanese skincare products available on Sasa O_O

So far I've been using this stuff for about 2 months now.

Giant bottles!

Ok not giant but these will last a LONG time. The toner is 360mL and the emulsion is 140mL and for the price of both products, its super worth it. I wanted to try the SK-II products at first but its so expensive for just the toner I didn't want to try it just yet so I ended up with these and boy am I super happy with them!

Tops

Glad that the toner doesn't have a gaping hole in the top that some products have, I found out I could've bought the toner with a pump -__-' but its too late for that now LOL. At least the emulsion has a pump :P

The toner is sort of milky in terms of looks but its just like any toner (watery consistency) and it has a distinct scent, it doesn't smell bad its just not floral or fruity.. medicinal? LOL I CAN'T DESCRIBE SCENTS! lol

The emulsion is not thick at all and a little goes a LONG way, it spreads across the skin really easily and is quickly absorbed.

**********

Overall results, I feel like my skin texture is much smoother and softer and that my red patches on my face are slowly disappearing when I use this.

I will totally purchase this again (unless it stops working on my skin) I'm glad that there are some amazing products out there that aren't totally gonna rob you lol.

Sasa Haul

Splurged just a little o.O

I haven't really spent money on an expensive product in a long long time especially for my skin, which I should take into consideration since I want to have nice skin for as long as I can manage it :P I think most people do lol.

I also wanted to take a break from Korean products since I've been using them for a while now. The Nature Republic truffle one eventually stopped working on my skin as well as the Juju cosmetics and I noticed more redness than usual.

 Kose Medicated Sekkisei Cosmetic Lotion

I considered buying the SK-II facial treatment essence but its just so damn expensive for a bottle $300+ for 11oz? (325ml) no thanks so I started looking for a product that's just as highly rated on Sasa but affordable and I found this.

This has tons of good reviews and I paid like $50 for 360ml of product O_O I also got the emulsion and the total was basically $100 so I think its a good deal for a lot of product.

Will do a review on this soon :)

 Bio-essence products!

I'm running low on the ampoule that I've been using and I've known about Bio-essence for a while now and I hear their products are pretty good so I ordered these serums when there was a deal on Sasa. I don't actually think they sell the whitening serum anymore, they have a small bottle version but not the bigger size that I ordered.

I got this for free lol

I thought I might as well give it a try since I haven't used a foam cleanser in a while and Methode Swiss has a good reputation. Maybe this will be a life changing product :P

Juju Cosmetics: Aloe Cleanser, Toner & Moisturizer

Aiya.. I thought I would post more often but I guess not.. but I guess here is something to hold you over for a while :P lol

I stopped using Skinfood's Peach Sake line because I am running out of it and I kind of want to save it for days where I go out and wear makeup and want a non oily face. Otherwise when I go to school and stuff I don't really care about how I look that much since I'm only there for a few hours.

**********

My new day routine

Back in July I bought these products from Sasa

I'm finally getting around to using these products now since its cooler out and my skin is starting to get dry particularly on my nose and cheeks.

The Cleanser

Since its a gel cleanser it is clear. Its not a creamy foamy cleanser but it does foam up a little bit. Its unscented and surprisingly not as moisturizing as I would like it to be.

Clear gel

Moisture Aloe Toner (Smooth)

This clear toner is alright it does provide pretty good moisture for this time of year. It is unscented and absorbs quickly. All in all an alright cleanser.

Aloe Moisturizer

This is a pretty heavy moisturizer for me surprisingly. I feel like this weighs down my face for some reason, don't get me wrong this is a good moisturizer but for people with oily skin I don't think it benefits my skin that much. After maybe an hour or two my skin will feel oily >.< and for some reason when I get oily I look tanner... lol

Overall I don't think I would buy these products again but at least I gave them a shot. These are super affordable so why not give it a try?

Sasa Haul!

Yaaaaay! I finally got my Sasa order! I didn't expect it to arrive early as it did, which is a good thing! I hate waiting for things, I'm so impatient. Usually it takes 2 weeks or so to get to the house and it came within a week!

I didn't really order that much, they have (or had?) an offer where if you order $39 worth of stuff then you get free shipping!! O_O!! I think in total I spent $50 or so I usually have to spend $100 worth of stuff to get free shipping or pay $20 O..O

 Small Haul! Let's begin!

Juju Cosmetics: Natural Juju Moisture Aloe Cream, Cleansing Facial Gel and Toner!

I noticed my skin has been kind of dry lately which is weird.. because usually in the summer it gets oilier but I hear this line doesn't make your skin that oily if it doesn't work out for me then I can always save it for the winter time :D hopefully it won't break me out...

Koji Eyelash Curler #73 (Wide 34mm)

Ashley gifted me an eyelash curler from Maybelline a few Christmas' ago and it sucks lol because my eye isn't flat.. you know? It only curls half of my eyelashes and I've used her Shu Uemura one before which worked really well but I don't want to pay like $25 for it lol (it was Ashley's) but this one is really really good! and its like $6 lol. Sorry for the blurry photo.

Kose Softymo Super Make off Sheet

I've been using the Neutrogena makeup wipes and they do a good job but I find the formula a little irritating and the wipes feel dry so I'm hoping these are more moist and non-irritating. Also this little box comes with 52 Wipes O..O where as the Neutrogena one only has 25 sheets

Kose Suncut Essence in UV Protect Cream SPF 50+++

It seems like all the sunscreens I have tried makes my skin super oily, I've never used a sunscreen that doesn't make me oily so I hope this one works well, plus its super affordable!

 Sasa Blotting Paper

For ma oily skin! lol its a bit smaller than I thought lol but you get tons and its super cheap ($2)

In case you haven't noticed I'm leaning towards the Japanese products with this haul, I probably will order some make up off Sasa soon too so look forward to that!

My Beauty Diary: 2-Step Europe Clarifying Pack

I mentioned this purchase a few posts back!
The My Beauty Diary 2-Step Europe Clarifying Pack

I've never used a 2-step sheet mask before (insert derp face here)

What The Mask Does (from sasa): Packed with precious black roses extracts which exude a classic elegance aroma, its lightweight texture carries effective whiten, sooth and moisturize efficacy to mildly purify skin and improve dullness. Mallow extracts from the Alps deeply condition skin, tighten pores, enhance skin defensive power and rejuvenate skin.

What The Gel Does (from sasa): Rose nectar originated from steep cliffs in France, efficiently repair and relieve pressure caused by the surrounding harmful substance on skin. It aids to reconstruct skin’s self-protective layer, enhances whitening efficacy and promotes skin regeneration. While the European white daisies essence effectively doubled its long-lasting and intensive brightening effect.

**********

When I tried it for the first time, I was like WTF how do I use it? lol because the whole box is in Chinese. I didn't know you can separate the gel and the mask and I didn't know there was a rip at the bottom of the package to get the mask out, so I used scissors to get the mask out instead lol.
I put one on Steve's mom and was trying to find scissors and he was like "Why are you using scissors? there's a tab at the bottom so you can rip it open" -____-' LOL

I have instructions here for people who are like me.. lol

Tadaaa!
I guess technically you don't really need to separate it but if you use the mask and don't trash the packet it was in, the extra essence/serum inside gets all over the table lol

What Do I Think Of This Product?

Some of my favorite sheet masks are by My Beauty Diary. Their masks are slightly thinner than the ones I got from Korea so they stick to your skin a lot better. Most of the other sheet masks by My Beauty Diary come in boxes of 10, this box has 8 sheet masks inside.

There's more than enough gel in the packet

The mask and gel has a mild/heavy rose scent so if you're quite sensitive to perfumes then I wouldn't suggest getting it but it smells goooood. I haven't really noticed my pores tightening and whitening but maybe I have to use more of it. Plus it doesn't make me break out or leave a weird residue on my skin.

When you first use it you'll find that it comes with tons of product, the mask is soaked so well that sometimes its runny, so I like to rub it on my neck and chest. There's so much gel that comes in the packet that I put it on in layers, I'll put a layer on my whole face on and then rub it in until it absorbs (facial massage time!) so I'll do that until there's no more gel.

Where To Buy This Product

I bought this at T & T Supermarket at the newly renovated Metrotown location (it seriously looks like watsons or something) for like $15 and I'm sure they sell them at other Asian supermarkets.

You can get this online at Sasa for $13.70 last time I checked but if you only want to get one product you'll have to pay for shipping which is like $20 or something unless you buy $100 worth of stuff to get free shipping unless they've changed it but I haven't really ordered anything from them in a while.

If you don't want to buy like $100 worth of stuff then you can get it on Ebay but its like $16+ whatever it is for shipping.
