NYX: Soft Matte Lip Cream

I guess just in time for Valentines day? What are you all doing? We're going to see Robocop LOL so romantic... Finally got around to doing this post, I've been putting it off for a while now but I have the time to do it since its reading break at school! ^__^

Istanbul is a pale pink, Steve says he can't tell if I'm wearing it or if its my natural color but its noticeable because of the texture. I have no idea why it isn't showing properly on camera >.< ... but I have swatches at the bottom.

San Paulo

Darker color

I'm starting to like more pale colors, I guess maybe because its the "spring trend" going lighter. San Paulo is nice though, trying to avoid reds lately so this dark pinky/light purple is nice and subtle for spring.

Top one is San Paulo and the bottom one is Istanbul. What's great about these is they're SUPER affordable!! (at least in North America) and because these have a matte finish they are kiss proof lol not food proof though* Plus! they smell good O_O

Revlon: ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick

I'm starting to become quite the drugstore junkie! Its not a bad thing, I like looking for good products at great prices. I know some girls that think that expensive products are the best products but as most of you readers know that's not always the case.

For some reason I've been really drawn to Revlon lip colors probably because I really liked their Super Lustrous Lipsticks and they're reasonably priced. Personally I don't want to pay more than $15 for a lip product especially if I like the formula and color payoff and I want more colors I don't want to pay $70 for two lip products (unless I was super rich I guess) I will start purchasing other brands soon so don't think I will only buy Revlon products lol.

 This probably isn't the season for mauve lipsticks but I like the color anyways

The lid is a bit hard to take off but if you are throwing it into your purse you won't have to worry about it popping off. When you turn the applicator to use the product out it makes a clicking sound which I find kind of annoying lol, especially if I'm out in public and re-applying I want to put my products on quietly lol, I guess its just a personal preference.

As for the overall look of the product, I like that the lid is clear since you can see what the actual color is (instead of looking at a sticker at the bottom or something) but it does make it look like a cheaper product (even though it is a cheap product already)

I like the subtlety of the lip color but I find this lipstick a little sticky and drying.. it could be just mine but I don't know if I want to go out and buy another one to see if that is sticky too lol. I asked Ashley to try it last time we saw each other, she thought it was sticky too.. so yeah... lol.

Overall I think I will stick with the Super lustrous Lipsticks over this product, so personally I don't think I'll purchase this again. Give it a shot though, I wanna know if you guys think that this is drying and sticky on your lips too!

Dog, The District and More!

Wow the year has gone by so fast already! Almost half the year gone!

 She's a 1 year old Toy Pomeranian

Steve likes to scare here with the helmet, I have no idea why she gets so scared of it lol

I think I mentioned before that Steve's mom is here and his sister had visited.. So far there hasn't been any major issues besides the dog thing... If the dog is left alone as in we're asleep and Steve's mom is in the bathroom or something she will start barking and its super annoying. I'm a little worried that our tenant will move out because of this dog but I told Steve that if she moves out then the dog has to go too lol.

When his sister was here for some reason his mom decided she wanted to go for a drive to Squamish and I thought it was a stupid idea and a huge waste of time. There was nothing to see, we stopped at Shannon falls and that's it. We drove all the way to Stanley park right after and did nothing there too. I mean if they never lived here before yeah why not go but if you've lived here for more than 10 years then its stupid to take a random drive up to look at nothing.

Recently discovered The District, a restaurant at the bottom of lonsdale. Its quite a small place but has great food plus the location is great especially on nice days out I like to sit outside on the patio.

 I've been "trying" to watch my diet lol

since finding out that I have gallstones I've kind of been watching what I've been eating 

so far so good no stomach pains since the results.

I got the warm pear and candied bacon salad... To be honest it was ok but the bacon tasted kind of weird lol. I wish I got the Belgian Salad tons of people ordered it and it looked gooood T_T maybe next time.

Comes with handcut super crispy fries and the tarragon mayo is SO GOOD I'm hooked!

My friend also ordered meatballs and croquettes but the croquettes were too creamy for me

The meatballs also had too much of a creamy texture too >.< not my style

Speaking of food... I'm subscribed to Foodwishes on Youtube and whenever chef John makes something (especially soup) I want to make it lol plus his recipes are so simple, I'm still contemplating whether or not I should make the chocolate bundt cake.. but no one but me will eat it T_T

The other day I attempted to make the Sopa De Ajo he made which is a garlic/bread soup

 I basically made it the exact way he did it but I didn't have Parsley on hand so I had to omit that ingredient

 Had a little trouble with poaching the egg it fell all the way to the bottom of the pot T_T

but I felt like it was too much for this soup anyways so next time I make it I won't put the egg in

Ok it looks unappealing in this photo but it was so delicious! OMG I can't wait to make this again :D

Opened up one of the red lipsticks I picked up last time I went to the States! By Revlon #740 Certainly Red (Super Lustrous Lipsticks)

 How red! I'm used to wearing a darker shade of red so this was quite refreshing!

Oh my can you see how red my skin is? 

Lol have to start wearing some BB creams/foundation >.<

I think I might just try all of the lipsticks and take photos so you can get an idea of how they all look. I'm looking for the 02 matte lipstick by Revlon but I'm not sure if I want a matte lipstick or not... I do want a nude and these are super affordable as it is so I might as well give a try next time I see them.

I also picked up two more lipsticks recently so you can see which colors they are if you follow me on instagram and other purchases too.

Revlon: Super Lustrous Lipstick

Finally testing out the DSLR

Second Revlon product review! Last time I wrote about the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lipsticks, if you read my most recent haul post you will remember that I picked some of these up. I've only actually opened one to test it before I bought a whole bunch but I like them a lot. So basically the one I'm reviewing today is #473 Mauvy Night.

I don't know why I chose this one.. lol I wasn't really into the whole mauve look some girls were sporting on youtube but this shade isn't as dark as some of the shades some girls are wearing. Some sites have photos of this product but the shade of mauve looks so much darker than it really is, so it seems misleading.

I decided to pick these up since I wanted to try some lipsticks. I used the revlon just kissable lip balms before and liked them a lot but I wanted something less moisturizing lol, I find that the really moisturizing lip colors tend to rub off more easily, but I wanted something more pigmented and more long lasting. Plus this is smaller/compact to carry around. 

I'm not a fan of lip glosses and things with shimmer so this was a good start for me, I think the last time I bought a lipstick was like 4 years ago by urban decay and it had shimmer and smelled weird lol so I never touched a lipstick (or any makeup) since then.

In terms of it being long lasting.. it lasts longer than the just kissable lip balms but don't count on it being super long wearing unless you plan on not eating or drinking lol. So yes it does rub off easily after you take a sip of stuff, leaves a fine layer on cups lol. I find after a while it does feel a little drying so I put on a bit of lip balm on before I apply the lipstick, not too much or it'll look weird. However color pay off is really good and its so smooth to apply.

These are SO AFFORDABLE!!!!!!!! I got them for like $5! So if you like collecting lip colors I would suggest these. I want to purchase a bunch more when I go back to visit Ashley ^__^ I want to pick up a few nude shades as well as some pinks.

I think naturally I have pinky lips I think if I want the color to pop even more I'll have to apply something that will make my lips nude. Its not very purple either its quite subtle which I like. When I used the Just Kissable Lip Balms I had a shade in pink (015 Cherish) and it was so subtle it looked like it did nothing for my lips lol, I was like ok this is basically like a lip balm with very little tint lol.

Overall I like these a lot and they're very affordable so get collecting! I definitely will be repurchasing and adding to my small collection!

Sorry for the lack of updates can't write as much as I did before since Steve's mom is here and Steve is finished school now so he's home quite a bit too so I write in bed when he's asleep lol.

On another note, I've surpassed 5000 views on this blog! Hurray!!! I know its not much since its been like almost a year since I started this blog lol, wait till the 1 year mark and I'll do a small giveaway! (I'm poor sorry! LOL)

Revlon: Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain

Oooh Finally talking about these!

I bought the lipstains back in November from Target (for $8.39) and I'm finally getting around to writing this damn post! o.O lol I guess this was my first time in many years having colored lips. I remember a few months ago I saw a youtube video of Taiwanese girls with make up on and then it showed what they looked like without it on and its like WTF!!

I showed Steve and he told me "I'm glad you don't wear makeup because its a scam" lol and then he changed his mind and was like "You would probably look really good with makeup on! you should try it" I was like ... what the hell lol.

Small steps people... small steps...

Romantic

I really like this color. I don't know if its just the ones that I bought but they have a weird minty smell to them lol and they taste a little minty too lol.

Man I need a new camera... But I think you can see how red it is.
I would buy this one but I want to try real Lipsticks! o..O

Generally I like either dark lips or something neutral. The pink one doesn't really work for me, this one isn't really pigmented that much so its barely pink and I have to put lots on for it to look pink lol.

I think Ashley bought the Precious color one and when I tried it, it didn't do anything lol.

 Don't forget this isn't a real lipstick so it isn't highly pigmented.

Rendezvous

If you have dry/cracked lips I would suggest putting on a moisturizing chapstick or something and then put it on top because if you don't, people can see lines when you put the color on top but don't put on too much chapstick cause your lips will look gooey LOL.

 I seriously need a new camera LOL.

Steve's sister left not that long ago so now I can blog freeeely! and not at coffee shops LOL. Steve's mom finally leaves on the 13th :D :D :D OMG I CAN'T WAIT lol. But... she's coming back like in a few months NOO WTF lol to do some classes.

Anyways I think the only one I would buy is the Romantic color one but I think I'll move on to real lipsticks lol. Time to invest! This is a good first step for girls starting to wear makeup because its affordable plus its not very flashy if you know what I mean so its more like a more pigmented chapstick.
