My Car - and Some Weird Things

So I mentioned in a previous post that I bought a car.

The thing is, I don't technically have a license LOL. Some of you might be like uh.. wtf?
I was planning on buying a car right away anyway after I got my license, I might as well learn to drive the one I buy plus I would feel better fucking up my own car than a loaner one from a school or from a friend.

What did I get?

a 2012 Kia Optima Hybrid

I really like it, its fully loaded and great on gas which is one of the main things I was looking for. I'm probably not gonna be driving it to many places except for like metrotown and to my sisters place every now and then. Plus the size is great for me.

You wanna know something fucked up?

After I bought the car like a month later... STEVE BOUGHT THE EXACT SAME CAR.

Ok he bought a 2016 Kia optima hybrid not a 2012 like mine but WTF WHY?!

I honestly don't get why he bought the exact same car as me, he wanted a goddamn truck!

Not only that when we were together he kept bitching about how he didn't have a car available when he needed it because he had to share it with his dad and how they needed a 4th car but instead of keeping the corolla they traded it in and bought this car... so it doesn't really make sense or ease the situation regarding having a car available at all times...

Some of my friends were like that's really strange.. and they expected him to get a Jeep or a truck instead because he's been telling them he wanted one but then he changed his mind last minute and was like "I want to save money on gas" ... I honestly know that's not the reason, he's always buying expensive things to try to impress other people, which is kind of crazy... After being together for nearly 6 years you know when somebody is lying.

He did it to impress a girl. Plus it was probably really easy to influence his parents.

I'm starting to think he's getting weirder and weirder.. its a little alarming actually, but its not my problem anymore.

Rant over, here's some car stuff I bought LOL.

 Terrible air fresheners

I honestly didn't know that the face shop made these car perfumed sticks. It smelled nice yeah but it barely worked and lasted like 2 weeks until it died. I went out and got a bath and body works one, its alright but I'm not a huge fan of the scents.

Deodorizing charcoal bag and Seat belt protector

I'm always paranoid that if I got into a car accident that involved speed my head would get chopped off because of the seatbelt, so I got those Kia seat belt covers.

The charcoal bag supposedly absorbs moisture and bacteria? I left it in my car and I'm really not sure if it does anything or not lol but it had good reviews so I'll leave it for now lol.

The Face Shop: Real Nature Mask Avocado

 Avocado sheet mask!

So sorry I've been neglecting the blog! Lots of things have happened at home >.< but I will provide the details on that later. I've been meaning to catch up on some beauty/skincare products but I've fallen way behind.. poot!

Let's jump into it! A few christmas's ago Steve's mom gave me some sheet masks which I've been neglecting since I have TONS but I finally got around to trying them (which I sort of explained in the lemon sheet mask)

The past few days my skin has been quite dull and flaky >.< stupid changing weather! (there was a heatwave last week but now its cold and rainy) so I used this today since it claims to re-energize dry and rough skin.

 The back!

I wonder if The Face Shop has upgraded more of their sheet masks after I received these, they're so much better than before but there's still some things to work on lol but its a major improvement.

The sheet absorbs the serum inside the packet really well, but the shape of the sheet mask is still odd (i get that everyone doesn't have the same size face but its so.. melty? that's the best way I can describe it)

ignore the lighting, its like 1AM lol

Still clings onto the face quite well. Taking the sheet out of the packet is kind of annoying, its folded in a way so that it takes while to get the sheet mask ready to stick onto your face and makes your fingers all goopey.

The scent of the serum is nice and it doesn't burn or sting my dry/flaky face, I feel like if you don't massage the serum into your face enough for absorption it leaves a light residue on your face..

Personally, I think this mask is great for the fall/winter but a little heavy for right now, since its a little warmer out. Its still nice and refreshing to have a sheet mask on but I think for the summer I want to use a lighter one that doesn't leave a residue on my face. But you know, everybody is different. Give it a shot if you can!

Don't Forget To:

***I've changed my Instagram name! Its now Mandaaar1 lol I thought StylePop101 kind of an odd name since I don't really do much with Style.. so I guess its slightly more personal now :)

The Face Shop: Real Nature Mask - Lemon

Lemon Sheet Mask

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We're gonna start this year off with a skincare product! Hope you all had a good time partying (remember to refresh your skin with a sheet mask ^_~)

Its been a while since I talked about a sheet mask and I haven't used any new ones since I have a huge pile of the same ones I've been trying to get rid of and it takes a while since I only use sheet masks twice a week (if I can remember)

I was given these sheet masks from Steve's mom from her visit from like last year >.< and I finally got around to trying these.

The back

What this mask claims it does: A brightening mask sheet containing fresh lemon extract to brighten dull skin tone while maintaining translucence.

I've had some trouble in the past with The Face Shop sheet masks.. like the kelp one... and the mung bean one in terms of the quality of the actual sheet.

Huge Improvement

This sheet mask isn't constructed in a way where it looks like your face is falling apart lol. It retains the moisture much better than the previous ones (doesn't dry out by the time you are done with it) and the sheet has a much smoother texture to it. Its still not as good as the My beauty diary sheets though lol but its a huge improvement since the last time I used the face shop sheet masks.

As for the essence, it definitely smells lemony, it sort of reminds me of lysol disinfecting wipes.. not in a bad way, I mean it smells good lol. I didn't really have much of a problem with the essences of the previous sheet masks I've used and this one is just as nice. I didn't notice brightening effects or anything :P but the skin always feels nice after a sheet mask so its definitely worth a try. These are inexpensive anyways (most of the time) and it didn't break me out.

Give them a shot! They're much improved since last time :P

The Face Shop: Herb Day 365 Peach Cleansing Foam

Cleansing Foaaaam!

I've been using this cleanser for like a few months now. Steve's mom bought this for me when she came back from Korea a few months ago. Its a pretty inexpensive cleanser (like $5 at Sasa) and you get a pretty huge cleanser too, I've used this for a few months now and I've used about half of it plus! Steve's mom uses this cleanser too (we share)

Very Creamy

Lathers really well and it smells not really peachy like a hint of peach but it smells like soap... hmm.. how to describe it.. lol it just smells fruity and soapy, you know? -____-' lol

I would say this is an alright cleanser, I don't think it really adds any skin benefits besides cleansing... I've started wearing BB creams/foundation and it cleans it quite well (I also use makeup wipes too) so alone I don't think it would clean all your makeup off.

It doesn't dry out my skin like the Laneige Pore Deep Clearing Foam so it is more moisturizing than that one and it also doesn't make my skin any oilier than it is (haven't changed the products I use on my skin after I cleanse so there is no effect) Doesn't break me out either and its quite gentle.

I know the face shop has other herb day 365 cleansing foams (mint, mung bean, lemon, acerola and aloe) that you can try out so let me know if you try them! (especially the acerola one lol)

So if you are looking for an inexpensive cleanser, I would suggest this one.

The Face Shop: Real Nature Mask Kelp

 Kelp Mask!

What the mask claims to do: This mask sheet enables a pure skin appearance with a clear complexion as kelp extract protects the skin from air pollution and facilitates the skin in discharging impurities

I was pretty hesitant when I first tried this mask, for some reason I expected it to smell like the sea lol. But because Kelp/Seaweed has great skincare benefits I wanted to give it a try (anti-aging, antioxidants, vitamins, etc). It has a nice pleasant smell. This mask wasn't as ridiculous as the previous one I reviewed in terms of the actual sheet but there is some room for improvement lol.

Sticks to the face a lot better but I still have to push it down every now and then to make sure its absorbing (even when I'm lying down)

I kind of think that their masks dry out a little quicker than others so after having it on for 15-20 minutes the sides aren't as moist as other parts.

As for the actual serum I think it works well. It does leave a bit of a residue on your face but its not too bad and it doesn't make you break out (at least it didn't make me break out) When I woke up my skin felt pretty soft and it did reduce the redness in my face just a little but not significantly.

Overall I think it works well in terms of getting rid of some impurities but its not a very signficant change. I would buy again unless I find a better kelp mask.

The Face Shop - Real Nature Mask Mung Bean

I guess technically its THEFACESHOP ?

I can't remember if this was one of the masks that Steve's mom bought me or one of the ones I got in Hawaii.. none the less I'm guessing that it was less than $3 lol.

What it does: A cleansing/purifying mask sheet containing mung bean extract. effective in purifying pores for a clean and smooth texture.

I use sheet masks twice a week so I can tell which ones are good and which ones are bad. This one was alright, not good not bad just neutral. The Face Shop usually makes ok sheet masks, since I know I can get better quality ones from other brands I probably wouldn't buy from them unless the essence inside was super amazing or cheaper than it is now but the sheet itself is a different story..

My face looks like its literally melting

For some reason the hole for where your mouth goes is super big,
WHY? WHOSE FACE IS LIKE THIS!?

I guess some people have extra big mouths/lips lol. The essence itself is nice and gentle. It smells good and doesn't leave a residue on my face. My only complaint is the quality of the actual sheet, it really needs to be changed, its the same for most of the sheet masks The Face Shop produces.

It doesn't adhere to the skin well, I had to push on my face every now and then to make sure it is sticking to my face. So I'm probably not going to repurchase based on the quality of the sheet, the formula of the essence is good though my skin feels quite smooth.

So I'm doing a little format change on the products I review. Since most of my previous review posts have the "where can you purchase this product" section I'm getting rid of that. I figured by now you can figure out where I usually purchase these products so I don't really need to tell you anymore (ebay, sasa, amazon) plus I haven't been posting much lately so yeah its quicker for me to write a post that way.

April Haul

Technically I didn't really buy much this month until I went down to visit Ashley in the states, even then it wasn't much but when we came home Steve's mom gave me quite a bit of stuff! O_O I told her not to get me anything, I feel bad because I didn't really get her anything either.. maybe later but not now.

Picked up a pair of the Response workout three quarter tights
at the Adidas outlet for $29.99 (originally $49.99 O_O)
They had a deal where you can get 2 pairs of the climacool pants for $29.99 but they didn't have any in my size (small) T_T so I got these instead

I bought just two new nail colors and a top coat
for some reason I've been obsessed with medium blue nails lately
The blue and clear Sally Hansen nail polishes were $2.50 each and the NYC one was $1.84
From Target

If you haven't figured it out by now I'm a really frugal shopper but the Sally Hansen nail polishes are such good quality already so I would say they're worth the money. The NYC nail polish on the other hand...

The NYC nail polish chips easily BUT it could be that my nail is super messed up because its only chipped on both my thumbs and not any other nails.
Took a good few layers off T_T

Ashley gave me the small eye makeup remover which I think is by Lancome?? Not too sure
I also picked up a few Revlon Lustrous Lipsticks for $4.50 - $5.50 as well
as the Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in 045 Supermodel for $7.49
From Walmart/Target

I also bought a billion bottles of Organix shampoo and conditioner lol
I bought the Rejuvenating Cherry Blossom Ginseng, Renewing Moroccan Argan oil, Nourishing Coconut milk, Anti-breakage Keratin oil and the Repairing Awapuhi Ginger shampoo and conditioner.

I got a good deal at Target for a massive bottle of the shampoo and conditioner (50% extra) for the same price as a small one! But they didn't have many different types of shampoos oh well. I got them for $5.50+ each, I really wanted the Thick and Full Biotin and Collagen shampoo and conditioner but I could only find the conditioner and not the shampoo T_T maybe next time.

Steve's mom went nuts and bought me tons of cute socks T_T
My favorite is the bunny one that says "I want carrot" lol
When I was in Korea cute socks were typically $1+
depending on where you got them from but I really needed new socks so yay! Thanks!

O..O She also got me some stuff from The Face Shop!

These are small wash off packs, great for traveling
I'm not sure if these are samples or not.. lol but they're a good idea
They look like the little individual butters you get at some restaurants

She also grabbed me The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam in Peach
and the Herb Day Cleansing Cream Fruit Mix

I'm running low on my current cleanser (by Laneige) so this is good timing! lol

She also got me and Steve a super soft Korean Blanket and mattress cover O.O
THESE ARE SO SOFT AND AWESOME
